New initiatives

• Expansion of the 0.5-degree product to five years
  
• Improvement of the radiative inference schemes to the Amazon conditions:
  
• incorporate better information on aerosols, in particular, during the burning season
  
• produce high resolution surface radiative fluxes for periods of interest to LBA research. Available sources of satellite data:
  
• high resolution satellite data (4 km) from CPTEC 
  
• high resolution data from the New Hampshire ESIP
  
•  implement the radiative inference scheme with improved land surface models and improved aerosol climatologies.
