Dean developed from Tropical Depression Four in the eastern
tropical Atlantic Ocean.
Dean track on SST image of 20 August (320 Kb) This image
represents the average composite sea surface temperature (SST) derived from
NOAA satellite AVHRR data over the 3 days ending 20 August 2007. The
averaging is done to remove clouds. The temperature scale for SST is
26C to 32C. The track of Dean is overlaid on this image.
